In the Fifteenth Century, the Aether held the universe together. In the Nineteenth Century, it just might tear it apart.
Augustus Merriwether Potts is a man with a dark past and an uncertain future. A failed writer, ignored by his peers and squandering the last of a sizeable inheritance, he is forced to rely on the charity of his brother, an erratic genius inventor. A chance encounter with a
mysterious stranger known only as N’yotsu sparks off a breathtaking series of remarkable events which will push their abilities to the very limits, as they encounter a bizarre realm of malevolent power: The Infernal Aether.
The Infernal Aether is the debut historical sci-fi/fantasy novel by Pete Oxley. Drawing inspiration from such writers as H.G. Wells, Arthur Conan Doyle, and K.W. Jeter, Pete Oxley has created a concept blending Victorian Era science fiction, adventure, fantasy, and horror, with a Wellsian Jekyll/Hyde duality theme and a chaotic Lovecraftian evil.
