Nov 1-3 —Oklahoma City, OK
OctopodiCon offers the unique opportunity to work towards earning novelty degrees in Steampunk. For our sophomore year, we will have beginner classes, intermediate and advanced classes for an abbreviated collegiate experience. To take classes and get supplies to make things, one needs to pre-register, but anyone can audit the classes and take notes! There will be entertainment, room parties, a Masquerade, a charity auction, a Promenade, a Mercantile, a Tea Parlour, a Gears and Gizmos Dance, and all sorts of games from Baccarat and Curling to RPGs and more.
Gaslight Industries Expo
Nov 9-10—Tallahassee, FL
Welcome to Gaslight Industries first annual steampunk Expo in Tallahassee, FL! Have you ever dreamed of a world with airships and gas-lamps, corsets and top hats, and steam-powered contraptions? The inaugural flight launches on November 9, 2013 at the Tallahassee-Leon County Civic Center, featuring artists, vendors, performers, and fantastic costumes from across the land and sea! We will also be hosting a collection of panels and events on all things steampunk.
Dorian’s Parlor presents The Gilded Festival
Nov 29–December 1—King of Prussia, PA
The Gilded Festival, an eclectic combination of Steampunk-flavored performances, discussion panels, art, and family-friendly children’s activities marks its first-ever event in King of Prussia, PA this Nov. 29–Dec. 1st, 2013.
Guests and Performers include Aurelio Voltaire, Mr. B The Gentleman Rhymer, The Valley Forge Dance School, The Divine Hand Ensemble, Steampunk Boba Fett, The Wandering Cellist, Platform One, This Way to the Egress, and many more .
Aside from concerts and other performances, the event will also feature an amazing fashion show, presentations on history, fashion, literature, and culture, kid-friendly activities and workshops during the day, and even a special humorous film presentation we like to call “Mystery Steampunk Theater”!

Emerald City Steampunk Expo
Nov 1—3—Wichita, KS
A 3-day steampunk celebration including LARPing, gaming, concerts, comedy, oddities, demonstrations and more. It’s being held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel on the River in Wichita, Kansas. Special guests include The Cog is Dead and Voltaire.
I would especially love to attend this event for the Monster Ball happening on the Friday evening and the Murder Mystery. And believe it or not, I’ve never seen Voltaire. That would be a treat!
Pure Speculation Festival
November 15–17—Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
This year’s Pure Speculation Festival in Edmonton, Alberta is steampunk themed. Their special guests include authors Gail Carriger and Arthur Slade. The Steampunk Scholor, Mike Perschon will also be in attendance. As a bonus, The Official Edmonton Steampunk Society is holding a ball as part of the Pure Speculation steampunk theme.
Gail Carriger, Arthur Slade and Mike Perschon all in the same room would be quite fabulous. Their banter alone will be outstanding and unforgettable…and who wouldn’t want to attend a ball with the wonderful steampunks of Edmonton, and in particular, well known Canadian steampunk artist Melissa Wartenberg. The whole weekend will be an event to remember.
Haworth Steampunk Weekend
November 23—24—Haworth, Yorkshire, UK
This is the very first steampunk weekend in Haworth, Yorkshire, UK! Fans of the steampunk genre will descend on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway and travel the historic line from Keighley to Oxenhope. Steampunks will then descend to the Historic Village of Haworth. All the shop keepers will be in Victorian dress for this event. There will be special activities running alongside this event over the whole weekend, including a burlesque, concerts and more. I would love to get back to the UK to attend another steampunk event. It really is the most wonderful place for them. We also didn’t quite get to this part of England, so it would be all new to explore as well.

Once again the fine city of Norwich has realized the glory of those magnificent artists that took part in the RFE Embassy.The theme is the same as every Ethereal Exhibition: Steampunk, Industrial, Sci Fi, Fantasy, RFE centric. Everyone is encouraged to dress in their best steampunk attire or any costume / get up you feel awesome in. Afterwards we may entertain ourselves at the local tavern.
Victorian Games and Libations at Stan Lee’s Comikaze

This interactive panel will be a celebration of just how clever and fun the Victorian era was. We’ll lead you through some classic Victorian games and introduce you to some delicious drink recipes to go along with the fun that you can try at home. Come prepared to play! The Festival will feature live performance, including music, contests of all kinds (fashion, literary, beards, etc.) demonstrations, food, and vendors. The Festival will take place at Cite Des Arts, Vine Street, The Lafayette Science Museum, Congress Street, Polk Street, and the Lafayette Public Library. Special performances for “Steampunk after Dark” will be an original musical by Travis Guillory called “The Undertaker and His Wife”, and a Special performance of “Boom Boom Burlesque” of Lafayette at Cité Des Arts.

On Nov. 16–17, 2013, Strasburg Rail Road will host an action-packed weekend. Festivities run Saturday from 11 a.m.–6 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m.–4 p.m. A juxtaposition of art and invention, creativity and technology while paying homage to the Victorian Era and Industrial Revolution, an unprecedented weekend at the Strasburg Rail Road is announced. Train rides behind a massive steam locomotive, delicious eats and treats, steampunk handiwork, photo opportunities galore, an insider’s look through a shop tour, music reflective of days gone by, and so much more are just a snippet of the weekend’s events.

Brooklyn Tweed Ride

Tally Ho! The Brooklyn Tweed Ride is cresting the hill and we want you to join us for the ride! Dust off your tweed and check your tire pressure—we’re planning a great afternoon of riding, friends, food, drinks, and of course, TWEED! Snibston and The Century Theatre presents New Age of Discovery

A unique performance event within the historic site of Snibston Colliery using live art, opera, performance and sound to tell a tale of future change. Imagine the year 2100 and Great Britain is running out of fuel! The Transform arts regeneration project, at Snibston, has commissioned ADEPT artists to create New Age of Discovery (NAOD)—a spectacular and unique event combining performance, steampunk and the steam-era collections, including hands-on (some of) the Symington corset collection.
Ay-leen the Peacemaker already has several of these cons on her travel schedule. When not zipping across the country, she works at Tor Books, runs the multicultural steampunk blog Beyond Victoriana, pens academic things, and tweets.
Known internationally as Countessa Lenora, Canadian Queen of Steampunk, Lee Ann Farruga is the founder of Steampunk Canada, a national organization bringing together steampunks from across Canada and educating the general public about this genre/community. Lee Ann promotes steampunk in a plethora of venues including the Steampunk Canada website, blogs, social media, local and national events, and at conventions large and small. She has brought the genre and local Canadian groups to the attention of publishers and major media companies and is campaigning to bring steampunk to the attention of all Canadians through art galleries, museums, libraries and schools nationwide.
