Calling it a day…

Here in Michigan, it’s been snowing since early morning.  I finally coaxed my collie, Kinder, outside by giving her a piece of macaroni.  She likes to play in the snow but likes the house better.  I’ve gone as far as my front porch to bring the paper in.

A first version of my cover for Spirit of the Season arrived about an hour ago on a very busy day.  One of the collies on the cover is perfect.  The other, a smooth tri, is considerably less perfect.  Collie people know that Candy, the dog in my book, is a gorgeous rough tri, so I’ve been trying to find a picture that will do my fictitious Candy justice.  Wish me luck.  So far I have nothing and the release date for the book is February 1st.  I’ll need the graphic long before that.

When you’re looking for a specific graphic, it always eludes you.  I have hundreds of pictures of my own tricolor collies—Heather, Ginger, and Holly—in albums, but they weren’t taken with a digital camera.  I have a Photo Album on my website, but most of the collies there are sable and white or blue merle.

Well, I have confidence that I’ll find my picture, learn to navigate the Coffee Time Romance blog and maybe Facebook, too, while finishing my current chapter.

Tomorrow should be quieter.

I’d like to thank Karenne who has stepped in to rescue me by helping me in this first attempt at blogging.  Also thanks to all the readers who have stopped in to visit.

    Hi Dorothy

Congratulations on your forthcoming release. I’m an animal lover too and have a rescued Jack Russell, sorry, not the sort of picture you need! 🙂

Just a thought, and excuse me if I’m stating the obvious, but have you thought of scanning in one of your own pictures and saving it as a jpeg so it could be sent to your cover artist? If you don’t have a scanner yourself, perhaps you could use a friend’s and save it on a pen drive. As I say, just a thought, but that’s what I do when I have I picture I need to convert to digital.

    Hello Dorothy,
In reading your blog, I noticed that you said the “smooth” tri Collie for the cover of your next book isn’t perfect. LOL LOL, Don’t you mean it’s a rough Collie. You don’t have Max on the brain, do you? Gosh, I hope I haven’t brainwashed you with all my talk of smooth Collies. Diane
